Hi everyone, I'm excited to announce that I'll be doing some solo shows with my new friend Rebecca Barnard! It's been a while since I've played as a solo artist. I have a lot of new songs from my upcoming album, plus some old favourites that haven't seen the light of day for ages! Rebecca and I will support each other and play a set together at the end. Event details here.
Here is an exerpt from the premiere of Seven Stories, City Recital Hall, Sydney June 2017. Performed by Ensemble Offspring with visuals by Sarah-Jane Woulahan. This is the piece I composed for my theme, Overcoming the Darkness. I based it loosely on the Neil Gaiman story of Coraline. You know, the old jealous witch who preys on the soul of the young, innocent, beautiful daughter. There are many psychological layers to this story. In a nutshell though, it is about courage....which leads to transformation,
I was honoured to be invited to sing the beautiful Go-Betweens song Clouds, with my fellow Cloud Trish Young last week at the State Theatre in Sydney. We joined Amanda Brown, Lindy Morrison, John Willsteed and a stellar line up of some of Australia's best musos and most dynamic singers, including Steve Kilbey, Kirin J Callinan, Izzi Manfredi and Dave Mason. There was laughter, there were tears, anecdotes, and some truly heartbreaking renditions of some of Grant and Robert's most iconic songs. This photo was taken by Pru Upton.
Here is a little preview of Seven Stories, which premiered at City Recital hall earlier this year. It was an incredible journey to create the music and the show with all of these talented, amazing people!
Jodi and fellow singer, songwriter Suzie Higgie of Falling Joys have printed up a fresh batch of their children's book, Pinkin Winkin Wolly Woo. It's a magical little book for your young ones. Be delighted by the brave adventures of Pinkin the snail, as he visits his friends, learns how to fly and plays in a band....all in one day! With full colour illustrations by Jodi.
It is a perfect Christmas gift for your little loved ones. We have limited stock available until they run out.
Hi folks, The Clouds and Falling Joys have had to postpone their Beautiful Nothingness Tour until February 2018 due to illness. It's nothing serious but rest is required. Thanks for understanding! We have had a fantastic time so far. The new dates are available here.
See you back out there in Feb :)
AMNplify gave us a great review for our Fremantle, Metropolis show. It certainly was a fun night. Thanks guys.
